your tv needs to sport the latest hdmi technology....i believe your tv must have hdmi version 1.4 ports to play nice with the evo.

i received the bravia television.. and my phone still freezes up .. it my evo no good... or do i have to set up some special settings to get the picture on to the tv.?

its your hdmi cable. had the same issue where it would freeze my evo as well. bought my from amzer and bought my second one on ebay and it worked perfect. I really doubt your tv would lock up your phone. you tv just needs to support 1.3.

Guys... Please stop recommending the wrong thing... Unless you attempted to connect the evo to another tv and it worked, the fault is obviously on the evo. If the evo freezes every time you connect an hdmi, then it is your device, not the tv. It can't be the tv. The evo is the driver of the software to be able to use the hdmi connection. Exchange your device. That's what I recommend.

Take your Evo and the cable to Best Buy before you haul a $1500 tv home to test it.

I can't believe you brought that tv back. I really hope people with the same issue don't just land on that thread and run before reading our responses.
It's not the tv.
However, you should get a certified electrician to check out your house. If there are problems, you may want to call your title insurance company and seek a refund.
I also heard this problem is ONLY on the west coast. The power grid on the east coast is a TON better.
I have never given advice on the EVO that was incorrect!
This is my first bit of advice on the EVO. - 09-13-2010, 12:25 AM #19
Bringing this one back from the dead (search people! SEARCH!)
Lol anyway... Just got mine in the mail from MonoPrice. Of course, as I expected nothing works. I plugged it in to both the tv and Evo. Opened up YouTube and the TV still says no signal... tried opening the gallery, same deal. Me = annoyed... Any ideas? How to flash a rom on your htc Evo

I got my cables from monoprice recently too. Just tried it out last night. No luck. VIdeos don't work, and it locks up my Evo.

It's not even doing that for me. Tv says no signal and the Evo just pretends it doesn't have a 10ft hdmi cable attached. Think it might be the cables? You have another Evo to try it on? I'm gonna try and get my friends tonight and try it out

I have a 10ft Cable from Monoprice and when I plug it in, my EVO reboots for some odd reason. Does not work. Good thing i live about 15 minutes away from Monoprice

I don't have another Evo to try it on unfortunately. I tried 4 times...each time same thing...plug in, nothing happens on tv, evo stays locked on video and I can't switch screens or close it out(forcing me to pull the battery).
It might be the cables. Seems like most of us got it from monoprice. - 09-13-2010, 02:52 PM #25
