I believe this would require a root and custom rom. Your other option is to create folders on one of your home screens and organize your apps as desired using the folders.

Just note that when you create a folder, whatever you put in there will be listed in the order added. No way to move them around once they're there. It's ok for the first time setting up a folder but it you want to insert something in a particular place, you have to remove all the apps after that spot and then add them back in. Not a big deal unless you have a lot of apps in a folder.

Good point.

I've noticed that the apps are in alphabetical order. Is there any way to rearrange them to my liking?

The apps are in alphabetical order where?

If you're talking about the full app list (pressing the little up arrow to the left of the Phone button), then there's no way to change it. But if you're talking about on the 7 home screens, you can arrange them in any order you want.

Thats an even better question, How do you change the order of the 7 home screens???

1. To remove and application icon or widget just tap and hold. When it high lights just drag it to the bottom of the screen were it says remove.

2. To add a application icon or widget press and hold a blank spot on the screen and the spot you want it to be. A pop-up will give you a few options.

Here, sounds like you need to read this "HTC Mobile Guide" page. If your new to the EVO you should read it. It'll tell you all you'll need to get started.

Page Link : Home Screen

And the best part about the guide is that its preload on the evo.
