Is it like an Iphone? Whose your carrier? I reply "Sprint" they reply with an unenthusiastic "oh"

thats 100% the standard reaction..

"is that an iphone?" --- nope its an evo
"whats that? --- its a new phone from htc

:: person is confused how its not an iphone::

"what's your carrier" --- sprint love them
"oh sprint? ok"

:: person is now confident the phone is not better than the iphone b/c they some how have this generalization that sprint sucks::

*convo over.

"I like the screen on yours better."
"Is that like the droid?"
"Can you talk on it?"
"Is that an mp3 player?"
"I can read that!"

Most people aren't looking beyond the size of the screen.

Pretty much

I was reading comments on Engadget, the one about the Sprint-T-mobile merger. One comment was:

"Damn, I haven't seen this many levels of fanboyism for something medicore since Firefly. I think all of you must love Sprint just because it's unpopular."

Some people just can't stand Sprint.

Sprint has to do better job of commercials for it, and show them more frequent. And HTC has to get more build and get them out the door, both companies are loosing here.

etc etc. I do also get the sprint hate. I haven't had any problems with them yet and I love their plan with the Evo.

hahahah.

Once i don't have an evo yet but when i tell someone i am on sprint they sometimes scoff, until i tell them how much i pay and what i get then they never believe me.

Then i show them.

Then some sign up.

I've signed 5 friends with Sprint (and got my referral bonus with all of them). If they are living in the NYC area i have no resignations about Sprint at all.

Them "Oh wow scrolling screens and apps, my iPhone did that 3 years ago!"

Me "Yeah, but I can actually talk on my phone without screaming 'hello? hello?' during my conversation"

-- brief debate on how awesome Sprint service is compared to AT&T --
