no email in inbox, gmail says one unread.

In gmail it constantly says I have 1 email in addition to any new ones that arrived. It went away last night but showed up again this morning. Does anyone know where its pulling this info from or how to fix it?

Things tried:
Reboot did not fix
CleAring cache did not fix
Hard reset did fix it....for about a week.

open gmail on your pc. This happens regularly to me if i leave a message open on one phone and try to archive it from another.

increase your number of sync days in Gmail settings on the EVO and then hit refresh. then you can change it back. this should fix it.

I get this also from time to time. No rhyme or reason.

What I end up doing is performing a search for "is:unread" in the gmail app. This will return all unread messages. Of course no new emails get returned, but the counter resets to zero.

I get this every now and then on the Inc. Going onto the website takes care of it.

+1 from me. When i had the same "ghost" unread message, it turns out it was marked read on my phone, but showing up as unread in gmail. Removing it on the web cleared the count on my phone.

Thanks for the replies guys. Going to the website or increasing the sync for some of my folders seems to have fixed it
