Anyone have an idea where the name "EVO" comes from?
So my girlfriend is always making fun of me for going on blog's. And she turned to me tonight as I was making her watch EVO commercials and asked "Why do they call it the EVO?". I said I didn't know and she said to ask my "blog friends".
Any ideas fellows?

REVOlution, being the first 4G phone, makes sense.

I'd say it comes from the word "evolution" since it is the "next generation" of smartphones

Who cares?

Sprint mentioned the word Evolution.. Meaning 3G evolving into 4G. This being the first 4G phone.

Re: Anyone have an idea where the name "EVO" comes from?
What highly irritates me about these forums is that the OP asked a legitimate question he/ she was looking for an answer to... and people come up with these kinds of answers. Obviously HE cares.
Anyway, to keep on topic... I'm not positive, but I do like the Evolution theory.

The question I asked is "where did it come from?" not "does anyone care where the name came from?". Thanks for the helpful replies, just wanted to get a random sampling of various enthusiasts opinions. Haters.....continue being unhappy.
