Default Did you fellow Evo owners get the Google Places icon after updating Google Maps?

I can't find it. I saw all the videos of it, but on my phone, it just never showed up. I initiated an update to Google Maps, and I did land up with the newest version, but that Google Places icon never showed up and I have no idea how to use the features from within Google Maps.

What did I do wrong? Any ideas?

Just reboot your phone and it should be there when you turn it back on.

Thanks Manny. Noticed Places in my APP list, but didn't try it. Now I know what it is. DOH..

Same thing happened to me. As suggested above, a reboot did the trick for me.

The app surprised me, too. I reboot every morning (testing a offbrand "Chinese" battery vs stock battery...offbrand is winning so far) as I switch batteries. That "PLACES app" just showed up the other day. I thought one of my daughters had downloaded it by accident when playing with my phone (they love the free puzzle apps).

I tried it, and liked it too. I's a pretty cool little app. Almost useful. :-)

There's also something called latitude installed as well. Looks like location sharing via google.

Wow, well that just tells you how well Android performs, I haven't felt the need to reboot the phone since last week. Going to try that now, thanks guys!
