What new features have you found in Froyo? Please also post version you installed

Version: leaked .3

1) New Market widget (new?)
2) Looks like new clocks (i failed here sorry, no new clocks)
3) dock settings
4) new text message widget and total count in app
5) new accessibility settings (looks like its used for reading information off screen)
6) New voice input and output settings (like selecting default engine)
7) google search widget has more options
8) new news and weather widget from android
9) new flash light app with 3 brightness settings
10) improvements to managed application settings
11) waving android guy if no picture associated with number
12) 8 apps in recent app list and no longer boxed in
13) scroll bar has changed
13) more options in messaging app
14) safe search can now be disabled in youtube and under voice search
15) PDAnet 2.42 is working without root (any more apps doing this?)
16) new options in gmail app (including text selection YAY!!!!!)
17) keyboard now works in landscape in either orientation
18) when calling someone who is on your facebook it will scroll their status on the bottom of their pic while you call them
19) imported calenders now work
20) looks like more selections under universal search
21) app sharing
22) can send webpages/maps from firefox on my computer to my evo now using chrome to android

34) wired headsets seem to pause and play instead of pulling up search feature

37) stock KB now support multi touch
38) send button is on top of KB when composing an email

40) when calling *2 it now takes you to sprint zone which checks voice and data and give you the option to call from there

improved wifi range
The bug is gone on power off. You can power back up right away without having to wait
Voice dialer improvement
camera/camcorder improvements
battery reports more accurately
(not new but new to me) multi touch scrolling. use 2 fingers in contacts
memory management seems better
some videos and games you can push and hold on the video/game and click in to left corner to go into full screen mode for easy viewing/playing
Better 4g speeds and reception

free Apps not showing up in download history. solution is a hard reset or update a current app
gmail not pushing email on 2nd account.
No MMS over wifi

If any of this stuff was there in eclair please correct me so i can update this. And if you guys want me to keep this thread updated with what you guys find please let me know.

Thanks to everyone for looking for these changes and helping to document them here. Hope this helps everyone get excited for the official release as well gets people going when they do get it. So once again thanks to the many of you that have posted here.

The LED flashlight has three settings, it's not all that bright on low.

The camera is MUCH improved now. My WiFi range is incredibly improved - I have a full meter sitting where I usually have one bar.

And I don't have any new clocks.

The manage applications area is very detailed with several tabs and the ability to force stop programs. So you can stop rogue programs.... Yeah battery life. Youtube videos load much faster and the overall phone is quicker.

The flash light in the video recorder is cool. But everytime I plug in my car charger it I lose my SD card, says its in use by the computer.

for now try changing default USB action to "just charge"

Performance:

1. Voice dialer actually works for me
2. Web pages load more quickly, in Dolphin
4. Google Maps renders almost instantaneously on a fast connection
3. Screen transitions in apps are smoother, though it's cosmetic
4. 720p recording might be acceptable
5. Phone doesn't heat up as much under use - my phone would heat up to the point of making it uncomfortable to hold when using it on 90 degree days

UI:

1. Scroll bar font is different
2. 8 apps now listed in recently used quick access from the home button

Apps:

1. Messaging app more refined
2. Calendar app actually works and may be useful
3. Universal search can be limited which makes it infinitely more useful

Tried different usb settings with the same result, that is if I'm doing of correctly. Looks like thinks were moved around abit in settings

settings > connect to pc > default connection type (be sure to hit done and not back on this menu)

hey guys you're gonna like this-the froyo upgrade that htc put up on its website for download and manual installation and then took down a few hours later for unknown reasons-well I installed it and froyo is working beautifully and so is pdanet 2.42-I have internet tethering with froyo 2.2 and I do not have root.this is not the hacked version that is on xda -developers-this is the froyo version htc had up for download for a couple of hours and then removed the download stating it was not a finished rom and suggesting not to install it-hahahahhahaha

Hah, I guess that is pretty vague

Let's see:

Fonts: Just a different font...not much there.

Messaging app: The compose box is larger and has more options for attachments

Calendar: I could never get the sports schedule calendars (Or any other imported calendars) to work, they now due. Plus Events from Facebook

Universal Search: You can select what you want it to search, ie people, calendar, texts, or apps instead of it bombarding you with a search that covers every single thing on the phone

Also looks like under option you can select text to copy in gmail!!! and label multiple emails at the same time.

from what i saw in the video posted on the front AC page, the landscape keyboard works either direction. if you watch the video (at 4:32) when he is at the google search widget, the landscape keyboard is speaker to the right. my speaker is left in landscape with 2.1. can anyone confirm this?

My text messages take longer to load. Way longer. Also pressing back when on a message takes 2 seconds.

Maybe adjust some options to delete some of the older messages?
