you didn't get it OTA, you downloaded the OTA from a website and installed it manually.

A Sprint Employee on Sprints Facebook page said "August 1" was what they were hearing for people to start "Manually" updating via OTA. Tuesday is when Sprint starts rolling it out in waves to customers with out them checking it manually....

im not the one who got it, i was just making sure it was a type and not some ppl getting it selectively.

my friend is a sprint employee and he could not confirm if some ppl got it early or not, but he did say manual would be avail aug 1.

Ive heard from numerous sources it would be available Aug 1 for manual DL but Im not holding my breath

What part of the rumor that it would be available tomorrow confuses you? Not to mention, anyone that's been around smart phones at all knows timetables are subject to change on a whim, which would mean any time between now and Tuesday is a possibility.

I am new to Android and have been loving my EVO since launch. Every one of us here wants to see Android succeed and become the dominate Os. What I don't understand is some of the sarcastic condescending replies on these forums to legitimate questions. If you think a topic or question is beneath you to answer why not just move on?

Second that, is it really hard to keep your sarcastic comments to your self if you don't agree or have anything to add to the topic. I mean don't get me wrong I love a good discussion as much as the next but some of the these comments are just plain rude and disrespectful.

It was available for manual update, on the HTC website and they quickly pulled it. Start reading around.. Instead of pointing fingers. Both Sprint and HTC confirmed the 3rd for OTA update.

It was also confirmed from this article, that it was not the final version of it.

yes, thats why im going to wait until u can download it manually(hopefully tomorrow) and it will be the final build...

only way i will do the leaked build is if they set the date back past the 3rd!

Are you still missing the point? They did a manual yesterday for people to beta test it. That was the whole point... You won't get it at all until the 3rd. Which then it will prompt you on the phone to update.

The version of EVERYTHING in the downloadable update matches with everything I've seen online for the full release OTA version coming, namely the version of the build 3.26.365.3 (3.26.365.1 was pre-release). My Evo even downloaded some update as soon as it started up, so I'm not worried. Wait all you want if that'll make you feel better. I'll continue enjoying the benefits of Froyo today instead of Tuesday. And yes, I prefer to have it now rather than later.

FOUR Evo's in our house all updated, and NONE of them have any problems at all. Not even a little glitch here or there. This build is solid.

The link? Umm no both Sprint and HTC had up on there websites it was available for manual update but that it wasn't the final version, and download at your own risk.

The memo saying it would be open to download was a Sprint internal memo... The Sprint Press release never said a thing about July 30... The Sprint press release on Friday said "Starting Tuesday August 3rd" and for "Those who can't wait will have the option to manually update at that time"

Several web sites were showing build 3.25.651.1 and the build I ended up with was 3.26.651.3 which means some of the early "Leaked" builds were not the latest....

Heck Android Central posted this video with the 3.25.651.1 build on July 30

I think the build we got was meant for beta testers to test out over the weekend and give Sprint/HTC/Google time to tweak it for a final build to be released OTA on Tuesday......

I could be wrong but I do think this build was a leaked build not what Sprint or HTC wanted out yet....
