I was at a bowling alley last weekend during cyber bowling and couldn't take but maybe 2 non blurry picture while i was there, all the rest were way too blurry.

It seems the only time it did work was when the flash was extremely bright causing the picture to be over exposed.

Any tips would be appreciated.

- Tried clicking on the person until the square turned green
- Tried raising/lowering the brightness
- Tried cleaning the lens to make sure it wasn't dirty
- Tried without flash
- Tried with flash
- Tried from farther distance back

It seems that the camera is having a hard time focusing. any help would be appreciated.

thanks in advance

You can try upping the ISO, but know that will introduce quite a bit of noise into the photo. How much you can tolerate is up to you.

As for auto-focus, most cameras will have trouble in that dark of situation because they use visual cues in the image to determine if the subject is in focus. If it's too dark, the camera can't "see" so it eventually makes an approximation and sometimes it's in focus, usually it isn't.

What you're probably experiencing though is that the camera is using a longer exposure in low light so you're getting motion blur. Again, upping the ISO will help some, but sometimes it's just too dark to take a decent photo without a powerful flash.
