Question HDMI Freezing My Evo on Connection...?

I have an issue with the HDMI connection to my TV, when I connect the HDMI cable I got from Amazon to my 60in Mitsubishi DLP my Evo goes to the white HTC Evo 4G screen and stays locked there until I have to pull the battery out and restart it but never allows me to actually show videos or pictures on the screen, it locks to that white screen right away. Can any help or explain whats happening here?

I have exactly the same problem. However, a few weeks ago, it worked a few times showing the slideshow as well as YouTube. Anybody have a clue what is wrong?

I think I'm going to contact HTC with this problem and see if there is a fix or see what is causing it to happen.

The hdmi out on the evo requires the 1.4 hdmi standard cable with the twisted pair for ethernet. I looked at the amazon cables and was nervous about compatibility. I just paid extra at the Sprint store for a cable that works. The output was dicey at first, but now works fine. I think the implementation is not totally stable yet.

On Friday Aug 6th, I talked with a Sprint rep. He did not find it to be listed as a known problem so he escalated it to a tech. The tech did some digging and did confirm they have an issue with it and plan to have a fix within the next two months. We'll see.
