Bicycles + Gates + Evo = :(
During my daily bike ride this morning I did something extrememly dumb, I hit a gate going 20+ mph. Needless to say my Evo was the first thing to hit the gate. So I thought I would share some photos with everyone on here. I thought it was amazing that the thing still works. There's only three problems: cracked screen, doesn't read sd cards, battery lasts about 4 hours.

Yeah, it's only a phone I just thought it was funny how the phone bent so much and still works. It's shaped like my old palm pre now. I'm going to try and bend it back once my replacement from asurion arrives.

Beware of that battery please keep it outside or in a container that is fireproof!!! Clay pot or kitchen pot I have seen Lipos go off and it is not pretty !!! If it does go off it will burn your house down!!!
I fly Electric R/C planes and have crashed a few and the batterys will if hit right create a good show LOL - 08-07-2010, 10:16 AM #14

Man that is brutal... I use to do a lot of cycling and have caught things with a handle bar or my leg.... Hurts like hell....
Amazed the phone semi works.... I always had a pouch thing that hooks under the rear of the seat and would wrap my phone in a small rag before putting it in there and some times even a good zip lock bag if it looks like rain (just to keep it from bouncing around too much and pad it from scratches) before I would hit the road..... - 08-07-2010, 02:09 PM #21

The phone actually does have a Lithium-Ion Polymer battery. the exploding kind.Originally Posted by IIJBII

I hope so.
Sorry about the phone dude.</awesome> - 08-07-2010, 03:12 PM #23

Li batteries can spontaneously combust. Just ask Sony about the Li laptop batteries they made for Dell. And the FAA is considering regulating bulk shipments of items with Li batteries as hazardous cargo. I wouldn't keep that in a place where a fire could set other things alight either.
Sorry about your misfortune. Pretty amazing that thing still works at all.PLEASE, when asking for help provide as much information as possible. Otherwise, it's like calling your doctor and saying "My head hurts." Your doctor can't treat you unless he knows whether you have a headache or a concussion, and we can't help unless we know what the symptoms are and what you did before they occurred.
If I've helped you, please press the Thanks button.

All this talk of the battery blowing up is scarying me... I'm glad I'm getting rid of it on monday when my replacement comes in the mail.
