How long does it normally take to update an evo, I have been trying to update the Profile on it and it literally took 4 hours and I cancelled it, should something else be on or what?

try doing it through your wifi.

If you're trying to update to the latest software (Froyo), you should go to HTC software update, not Update profile.

update profile takes like 2 min if that.
update firmware takes like 10-20

if something is taking more then that, there is a problem.
Try a batt pull then try again. if that dont work try a hard factory reset and try agian.
