Amazon mp3 app, questions

I really want to use this app. I know there are ways to get music for free but this app comes in handy for me at times so let's stick to this app.

I want to sign in with my already established account that I've had for several years now. However, when I go into the settings, the area that most looks like the toggle for me to sign in is grayed out.

It just says "Sign Out, you are currently not signed in" and that's it.

How do I go about syncing my amazon account with this app? I have the latest software to it as there's no update in the marketplace.

What gives?

When you actually go to buy a song, then the option comes up to sign into your account. Click on the song you want, then hit buy, then the sign on screen comes up. It seems that the Amazon MP3 and the regular Amazon store are different when t comes to the apps. So, for the Amazon store, you have to log on to the Amazon store app. Then, it will sync with your account.
