Default Data security/program question-Unlocking phone but keeping certain functions locked?

So I'm wondering if there's a way to unlock my phone (screen unlock) normally, but then another nested lock that acts as a gatekeeper to certain functions?

The example: I wanted to lend my phone to a client the other day to make a call (his crackberry died), but I didn't want to because I didn't him to be able to access my email should I need to step away for a moment. So, is there a program or function internal to Android to require a second PIN or unlock to access email/SMS/call logs? It'd be a great help for me, where I do worry about data security generally, but also in this particular incident.

    Thanks

Hmm, on closer inspection it seems like it's half-way there, but not all the way. Looks like it's pretty easy to get around for anyone with a modicum of savvy.

Works well but does NOT active across reboots on my HTC Evo running v2.2. After a reboot, I have to launch the app (just launch it, not go into any settings) and then all my apps are protected again. As some people have already said, this issue makes the app useless. Can any of Evo uses confirm, is there a setting I am missing?

Well you shouldn't be using a task killer to begin with. If it's just the rebooting that's the issue, that shouldn't be too much of a problem. It'll only take a few seconds. Check to see if there's a start on boot option or something

EDIT: Just tried the app out myself. I actually like it. Unfortunately there's no way to have it set on boot. But if all it needs is for the app to be opened then I don't see why it wouldn't be acceptable since it literally takes only a few seconds. Honestly, i think you can't go wrong with it. Especially considering the features and it's free.

I think the issue is that anyone could just reboot the phone to get around any locks.

Is there any type of auto run app that lets you designate other as to run on boot up?

I went paid with App Protector yesterday and like it. If it did remote wipe type of things, it would be outta sight.
