Anyone have a good expierience with the recent maintenance update
wanted to know if anyone has had a positive experience with this update with all of the negative I have seen in the other thread on the update ? and if you have had positive experience were you rooted or non rooted

My g/f has a stock Evo (non - rooted) and I have to say I get a lot more of "why won't this work, facebook won't update, where did swype go" now than before the update.
If you ever plan on rooting then I advise to stay AWAY from this OTA.Fred

Not rooted - updates are awesome - phone never felt better, excluding the turd battery life these batteries give us.

whats up guys, i got a real quick question. Go easy on me, i just got my evo yesterday morning (thank god, came over from BB....one year too long).....in the "market setting" i have the box checked off for my device to notify me when there is an update for one of my apps. but im not being notified about any updates. I gotta go in the market and check the apps individually. Is anyone else having this issue?.....thanks fellas

I've noticed something similar. Sometimes I'll get an update, but rarely. Usually what happens is I'll go to the market for whatever reason and see that I have updates, and then it notifies me.
Not sure if I just go to the market more often than it polls for notifications, or what. But it almost never notifies me out of the blue.

Improvements in lag when 4G is on. Thankful for the update.

Originally my only complaint with this update was that the bloatware copy of NOVA broke my fully licensed copy of it.... But Gameloft fixed that so I am not having an issue at all with the update.

My 3G seems faster, other then the unwanted apps (which rooting can take care of) i am happy with it.

4g
Ok, maybe it's just me, but since the last upgrade for the EVO, which included a "4g Scanner" whatever that means, I have had terrible 4g reception. The scanner shows up in my notifications and as soon as I scan for 4g it finds it then immediately disconnects. Call Sprint tech, waste of time, had me Hard Reboot to no avail. I live in the Portland, Or area and we have since the beginning had good to great 4g reception and never a problem until this last upgrade.
