Froyo and Sirius XM app

Official upgrade done last night to 2.2 on my EVO_
-now Sirius/XM app starts and plays a 1 minute loop-
If I change channels or reload the new channe, it starts from the current spot and begins looping from there- I use the app every day- usually works great-
I found this similar thread on XDA- SiriusXM App + 2.2 Question... - xda-developers seems to be an issue following FROYO upgrade- and I seem to be the first one to post since the official upgrade- issue still present-
Anyone else having problems?
or solutions?

Same here. My most used app by far and now it doesn't work. Tried to use the webpage player until the app works now that we have flash, but can't get that to play. It shows the channels and what is playing, but no sound.

I'm seeing poor behaviour from StreamFurious Pro, as well - and after looking at the fix posted there, that makes sense.

I shouldn't have to root to fix this issue (and yes, I understand it's easy, and as a Unix admin by trade, no, I'm not afraid of it - it's just that I muck around at the command line all day for a living, why would I want to do that on my phone, too??).

I have been listening to Sirius on my Evo with the OTA Froyo all morning with no problems. Try reinstalling the Sirius app and see if that works.

My XM is working without problems before or after the update. Sorry you guys are having trouble. I use XM every day and would be upset if it was not working.

Now, I am getting the problem everyone else is having. This morning it seemed to work fine, but now it keeps repeating itself. The only way to get it to work is hit pause button, then start it again. What service is everyone having problems with Sirius or XM. I have Sirius with the best of XM. I noticed with the Sirius stations(Sirius NFL Radio) I am having the skips, but when I turn on XM Fantasy Sports Radio I have no problems. I am starting to think it is on the Sirius side. How about everyone else. This morning I was listening to the best of XM on my Sirius app, and it worked fine.

I have been reading other sites about this problem and it sounds like it is a Froyo problem. Supposedly Sirius knows about it and is trying to fix the problem.

Here is another site talking about the problem.

Annoying Issue With Sirius XM on Android

Thanks for the link.. What so sad is the post was dated July 22nd, and they still haven't find any fix for it.. Wonder how long it's gonna be.. :(

I just got off the phone with Sirius. Supposedly, they thought they fixed the problem with Nexus 1 and Froyo. The Sirius Rep said he wasn't sure what they reported, but this is what the Tech support told each caller. They told everyone that called to go to application in settings area. Go to the Sirius App. First, clear data or clear cache(most likely data). Then, uninstall the Sirius App and then reinstall it. See if that fixes the problem. Of, course, by reading the other forums, it didn't fix anything. But, for some odd reason, not many people called back to tell Sirius that their fix didn't work.

So now on to me. First, like everyone else, we all have the looping/repeating issue, with skipping also. Everyone has had this problem since updating to Froyo 2.2. I told tech support this and they have now escalated back the problem. Before I called, I did what was told to do, clear data, uninstall the Sirius App and then reinstall the Sirius APP, and still got the same problem. This is important. Everyone now needs to call Sirius and let them know about the problem. You must first try the clear data and uninstall and reinstall first before you call, because they will ask if you tried this first. The more people that call, the faster it will get fixed, because it will become more of a priority. I also mentioned to the Tech Support for Sirius that I was on the EVO 4G, and we just got Froyo, 2.2 yesterday, and the Droid is getting it today and Droid X and Incredible soon afterwards. They better correct the problem before they get flooded with calls. The Tech guy said for me to go onto the forums and tell everyone that is having this problem to call Sirius.

So, if you are having the looping/skipping problem with the Sirius App since installing Froyo, call Sirius now and ask for tech support.

As a beginning developer with two apps, both that stream audio, I can tell you this is a Froyo thing. Google changed the entire media framework in Android for 2.2 (for the worst some say) so problems with audio/video/ media streaming apps are not unusual right now with the update.

I emailed XM about the problem and they sent one back saying direct all technical issues to this email: For technical issues with our Android Application, the user should contact support@quickplay.com, I am sending one now.

Just emailed them as well-
I assume quickplay developed the app for Sirius?

By the way- I called XM tech support first thing this morning, and of course the tech had no idea what I was talking about and kept saying that the app doesn't work with all platforms or software- even after I explained to her "blah blah SPRINT blah blah OFFICIAL UPDATE blah blah HTC blah blah OTA update blah blah HARD RESET AND REDOWNLOAD AND INSTALL blah blah GOOGLE IT AND TAKE AN INTEREST IN YOUR PRODUCT FOR CRISSAKES blah blah....."
(by the way- her answer was they don't have access to google- I'm not kidding!!!!!)
Clueless.....and unbelievable!!!!!
