How many apps is too much?
Evo noob here. Have already d/l'ed 10 or so apps and wondered if there was a limit to the number of apps one should have before they really start bogging down the phone.
20? 50? 100? What's the most you have, and did you notice any performance dropoff once you d/l'ed a certain number?
Thanks. - 12-29-2010, 08:56 AM #2
I just counted 59 apps. All are saved on my phone (none on sd), and I have no issues with my phone.

59 total, or 59 additional that you've d/l'ed?
I should have been more specific. After the recent system update which gave us the crappy bb and nova apps, I have about 56 or so apps that came with the phone. I've d/l'ed an additional 12 for a total of 68. So far I haven't noticed any performance dropoff. I'm just wondering how many more I can d/l before I have to worry about it. - 12-29-2010, 09:14 AM #4
63 here...a few on the card. And some of them (you would think) are whoppers. Some require card loads for data (games, etc) Evo runs like a champ.

I have 31 apps installed on my Fascinate, and personally I don't think there is such a thing as "too much". Too much is when you've reached your storage limit and simply can't download anymore for lack of space, IMHO

I have ~160 apps with about 130MB internal memory to spare. I am using CM6.1.1 so it gives me about 100MB more of usable internal memory than a Sense ROM.

Ninty two and my phone still feels and operates flawlessly. I believe the only downfall to certain apps are... the ones that runs in the background. Those require a little more battery usage - Apart from that you can download all you the apps you want.
Note: If however, you should experience any sluggishness - just do a restart/reboot whichever one come first.

I have a simple rule. If I haven't used a certain app in 30 days It's time to delete.

Storage space is the only issue I've ever had. I wish more Apps were able to be moved to SD.

Titanium backup says I got 106 user apps. I also have 168mb of internal storage free. Darktremor a2sd puts my apps all in one place, on the sdcard. Not like the screwy froyo appstosd which uses separate volatile symlinks and location for each apk it puts on the sdcard. It also puts the dalvick cache in the dalvick cache partition.
