Gmail App shows email not conversation list.

When I open the gmail app it automatically advances to am email although I already read the email. How do I get it to stop doing this and just open the conversation list?

When you read an email, do you then exit it by hitting the Back button or by hitting the Home button? If you're just using Home, then Gmail will open to the same message you left off on when you open it again.

What do you have in Settings->Auto-advance? Just wondering.

I don't like the Conversation List, is there a way to stop that? I like reading one by one..thanks and sorry to hijack this thread.

The OS is multi-tasking. When you switch to another app, and return, it's taking you to where to left-off. Think about it, that's how real multi-tasking OS's and apps work. If you switch from GMail in a browser on your desktop to, say MS Word, and then switch back, GMail is in the same state you left it.

Now then, if you CLOSE gmail, and restart it, it'll restart at the conversation list, just as if you close your desktop browser and restart it, then open gmail, it'll do the same thing.

If this bothers you, just hit the back arrow when you're done reading an email message.
