Itunes on Android? Lets take a poll?
So recently Android out performed Apple in market share, ect... Now, I foresee a future where Apples will be looking for new revenue streams becuase of their competition. So What makes most sense would be to port itunes to Android! But when is this going to happen?!?!?! Would you want itunes on your device? Lets take a poll. Yah or nay?

Heck no would I want iTunes on my Evo. Anything that Apple makes comes with balls and chains. No thank you to that. If anything, I would rather Google develop their own music service with someone like Amazon.

I am fully against Apple and am glad that Android has caught and surpassed in the smartphone space, but I doubt that they will be needing to break down the walled garden to get some more revenue streams. Keep in mind that they are currently dominating the tablet and media player spaces and Android will have to work pretty hard to catch up to (if they even try in media players).
When I got my Evo and ditched the old iPhone 3G that I was using, I cheered at the thought of ditching iTunes for good. There is no way that I would want that bloated ecosystem on an Android device. I think that Google will should work harder to fully flesh out the music integration that they demoed at I/O last year. - 01-29-2011, 02:59 PM #5
What is iTunes(LOL)... I've never use it before. If it belongs to Apple, then Android should have their own.

Um, no, I don't want iTunes on my Evo. As far as I know, in order to add songs/movies to your iTunes-connected device, you have to add them to your iTunes account on your computer, and then sync with your device... I'd much rather just drag and drop whatever I want onto my phone's SD card directly.

ITunes is where all my music is stored but keep it on apple devices. That's what I have an iPod for. I don't need two thousand songs on my phone.

I would LOVE Itunes for my Android! Hate Apple all you want, they are still the leaders when it comes to digital music distribution and organization. Though, i'd rather buy my music from Amazon, Itunes is THE industry standard for music organization.
I'm a DJ and sometimes I really On my Itunes playlist to find music (Sometimes). Till then I'm good with using Double Twist!Follow Me on Twitter @DjSayWut - 01-31-2011, 09:04 AM #15

Hmm, I have to laugh at this one. More specifically, laugh at all the knee jerk reactions to anything apple. Ignoring the obvious infinitesimally small likelyhood of such an event, i would say yes!
Why would the answer be anything else? All I saw was: Would you like android to gain a EXTREMELY popular, fairly well rounded music player? Who can argue with that? Anything else is just irrational hate. Even if you don't use it yourself, just the fact that every other music player, including the one that you did use, would feel the need to step their game up would be a win-win for everyone. But then again, that's just me and those unfortunate fancy reasoning skills I've gotten used to... should have just hit my APPLE=BAD button that comes with the evo..

If it involves DRM and physical tethering, NO!
I retired my iPod long ago and use my Android device as my dedicated player at home, work and on the road. Cloud sync or the occasional drag/drop is what suits me best. - 01-31-2011, 11:42 AM #19

^^^ Are we talking about hardware or software? If the former, how will iTunes help?

I'm a drag and drop kind of guy. I looked at iTunes at one point and just found it sort of annoying. YMMV.

I assumed he meant software and sync. I think a lot of people hate on Apple because they are Bias. I like Apple products, I don't like Apple's business sense cause they are greedy and arrogant but there products for the most part are NICE!

Good question and honestly I'm not sure. I would presume an itunes for android would include a player which may our may not improve the evo's capabilities. For now isyncr is a good stop gap for sync, but playing music on the evo leaves a lot to be desired (poor audio, skips/pauses in music, no eq, no headphone controls).
I consider dragging and dropping absolutely stone age compared to a good sync feature. Ymmv.
