Cracked Screen - Help, Best way to get replacement
I dropped my phone today on cement and shattered the screen.
I have insurance, through sprint. I am not sure exactly on the rules that it covers; lost stolen broken etc.
If I go in the store will they give me replacement on the spot?
Does insurance not cover broken? should i just say i lost it?

I read somewhere that u could get it replaced at a Sprint store for free... they will remove the screen piece and replace it.... but don't quote me on this. Call up a store and ask. U won't lose anything trying that
Also, don't say u lost it... that's not a good idea :P

Yea I would have to think outside the box for this one...wrap it in copper wire mesh to get rid of any radios then smash it then throw it away and say it was lost...jk jk if you are good with taking apart things just buy a replacement screen and fix it yourself or go online and I bet you could find a whole bunch of TRUSTWORTHY places that will repair it

I just went through this myself last week. The first store I called was wishy washy about replacing the screen and ultimately told me that they wouldn't. I called Sprint because the store that I initially called told me the policy had changed that day (hard to believe). The sprint rep said, after looking into the matter with the higher ups, that each store has their own policy on how they handle broken screens and suggested I call around.
The next place I called only handled repairs as I figured if anything my chances with them were the best since that's all they do. They told me to bring it down. The fixed it for me under the warranty for free and said that their policy would be changing soon however, he also said that if I came into their store without insurance that it would cost me only $35 to have had fixed. DON'T GO THROUGH AZURION, call around first.

Just left a Sprint store for a white spot on my screen. They said they do not handle cracks anymore, but would fix the white spot, so like everyone else says, just depends on store. As far as rooting, it does matter. They argued with me that I voided my warranty saying I signed a contract that I would not change the operating system, blah blah. After calling customer service, all is fixed but I would just un-root to avoid the hassle.

ok, well even if that is true they said they would fix my screen if I had no insurance for $35 which seems crazy to me. The first store that said they wouldn't fix it under the TEP pointed me to ebay to look for a screen replacement if I didn't want to deal with Azurion. So, I would say it certainly does matter which store you call.

I did'nt have insurance so when my screen in my Evo cracked I had no choice to look for an alternative fix. I bought the screen and tools to open my phone on Amazon I follow instructions how to disassemble the Evo online, and replaced the screen. Now I had fixed two co-workers screens and made some profit from my experience.

The new policy does not make much sense. If the screen is shattered as yours, you would have to do a claim. But if you have two cracks, less than 1" long, they can replace your screen. What I have found is if you ask them to do you a favor there should not be any reason they cannot replace your screen.

As a preferred retailer for Sprint, we can no longer do these at my store. If we swap it by mail and the screen is shattered we'll get a chargeback. We can't name our own price and fix it with 3rd party parts because Sprint doesn't allow that. So, if a preferred store is actually following proper procedures, odds are they wont be fixing your screen. Non preferred shops are pretty much free to do as they please.

I went to the one in madison square park by shake shack. they told me they no longer do swap outs b/c of a policy change.. i made a small stink and the manager decided to give me a refurb.. they said i'd have to pay the fee but i don't see it on my account yet and didn't pay it in store.
