EVO 4G or EVO Shift 4G?
Hello, everyone. I'm new here =P.
I've been trying to decide between these new phones, and I've been looking up countless reviews. Which one of these phones do you think is better?
I've been trying to decide, but it's just really difficult. Any help, please?
Thank you =] - 02-22-2011, 11:28 PM #2

I have a keyboard on my current phone and I love it. However, I'm really curious with the regular EVO 4G because of it's basically just a solid screen, and I'm excited to test out the Swype keyboard. I really like how it's just one solid screen.
"Need" is subjective, haha. However, I would really enjoy it.
I will probably root it eventually, as soon as I am more experienced with the Android operating system. - 02-22-2011, 11:37 PM #4
Evo all the way, you wont regret the bigger screen.

Me personally I can type faster and more precise with the on screen keyboard. It does take some time to get used too.
With the larger screen of the evo and the gingerbread keyboard I can type extremely fast. My friend's are always watching me and say that it looks abnormal to type that fast, lol.
My vote would be the evo personally.

As much as I love physical keyboards, I dislike sliders even more. That's one of the main reasons that I chose the Evo over the Epic. The Evo Shift wasn't available at the time.

EVO!
Coming from a Blackberry Bold, I thought I would miss a physical keyboard. I ordered the EVO by mistake, but I fell in LOVE with it instantly.
I did order the Shift before giving the EVO a chance, but the Shift is going back. So, I do have hands on experience with both phones.
But again, like someone said, it's what you want and what you are comfortable with. Welcome to the 'droid-side.

Well Call me the oddball I guess, but I think I would rather have the Evo Shift. I have had my Evo since the first of December and my wife just got the shift a couple of weeks ago. And while the gignormous screen on the Evo is nice the Shift actually has the same screen resolution but since it is slightly smaller it just looks much sharper. Also even though it technically has a slower processor it actually has higher benchmark scores than the Evo. The battery also seems to last longer in the Shift than the Evo it is hard to compare that directly though because me and my wife use our phones very differently. Also personally I think the size of the shift is perfect and it feels more natural to hold. The only thing that it does not have that I might want is the front facing camera, although so far I have not really had a reason to need it... well that and the kick stand which although it seems a little silly I use all the freakin time. All things considered though, I if could, I would probably trade my Evo for an Evo Shift.
I think if you are interested in Rooting your phone and doing custom stuff with it stick with the original Evo. It has been around for a while and people really know their way around it. On the other hand if you just plan on keeping it stock almost everything is slightly better with the Shift it even has the newer better version of the Sense launcher.
But that's just my 2¢All Day I Dream About (4G) ServiceAnd I still miss WebOS - 02-23-2011, 10:57 AM #13

Do you want a keyboard or not?
Do you want a big screen or not?
Battery life is a bit better on the shift. - 02-23-2011, 02:23 PM #15
