Netflix removed from the Android Market
Hey guys the netflix app has been removed from the Android market so they can get a fix going, plus thanks to all the people crying and complaining and leaving bad ratings on their comments section INSTEAD OF CALLING THEM. I hope it comes back soon, my Netflix app is still installed but same issues. Just to be sure it was gone I used my wifes Evo 2.2 froyo and the Netflix was not listed on the market for her froyo version ether.

Also Netflix said that they are working on get the hdmi out to tv's but not anytime soon. They said the problem is the same reason why it took so long to get Netflix to Android. They have to insure that while using hdmi out people can't use devices and programs to strip and/or record the movies and shows from Netflix app itself.

Has anyone heard if or how long before they have it fixed
- 06-07-2011, 06:28 PM #7
It has not been removed, it is because the app itself does not support the EVO 4G update 2.3.3. It is showing up on three other Android devices for me. Nexus One, and two Nexus S's.

I can't get a download link for it.
Stock X and new GB build.
Appbrain sends to Market then market says requested item can't be found.
Is it somewhere else?
And that link above works, but won't let me download to my pc/usb to my phone. Says it's not compatible with an X.MAXX, XOOM and a Tab 2 all unrooted

that sucks, just another problem with the GB update on the Evo. Wish my Nexus S would hurry up.
Is there any other place that has the Netflix app, like SideME or Amazon because if it's off the market, it will not show up in my apps list, so I won't be able to transfer it.Live long, Rock hard

I'm glad it shows up for you but it looks to me that it has indeed been removed. I have an EVO running the stock Sprint/HTC Froyo ROM and it will not show up for me at all. Phone is not even rooted! I tried my friends Evo which is rooted and couldn't find it in the market either (used 3 different roms, VaelPak, Myn's Warm 2.2 and Fresh).Moto Q9C < HTC Hero (cdma) < HTC EVO 4G + Moto Photon 4G< HTC DNA - 06-13-2011, 01:30 PM #15
I have not upgraded to Gingerbread just yet.
Because,
Netflix is still working fine for me with Froyo.
However, I do want to upgrade to Gingerbread.
Is there a stock Netflix app working for Gingerbread yet?
thanks - 06-13-2011, 02:29 PM #16
Nope.
I called Netflix a couple days ago and canceled my account. The EVO was my primary device for watching Netflix. The Customer Service person was unaware that the app was broken, but speculated that a fix would be out soon. She had no knowledge of it, however.
I'm not upset and was very polite...as was the Customer Service Rep. She gave me a refund of my recent monthly payment and canceled my account with not hassle. For me it is disappointing, but being able to get a refund and cancel was appreciated.
BTW... Netflix keeps your settings and queue for 2 years after a cancellation. So, no worries on losing that for a temporary suspension. - 06-14-2011, 12:41 AM #17

This is why I'm not upgrading my Rooted Evo yet either. There are a couple of very nice looking GB ROMs already available and more on the way but I use Netflix a lot and don't want to lose it.

Yup, I chose to cancellation over suspension for the following reasons:
- Even if I cancel, my settings are kept for 2 years
- Hopefully, cancelling sent a message to get them to update the Android app and to have a record of the cancellation on the customer service reps' calllog.
- When you suspend, you select the length of the suspension up front. Up to 90 days. If the app is fixed in 3 days I may wish to rejoin earlier.

Fix...
Netflix is supposed to be fixed with a minor upgrade coming out the 20th.
- 06-18-2011, 09:43 AM #23
Yes, HTC is suppose to do an OTA update the 20th to fix it. For everyone being on Netflix cases, its not Netflix fault but HTC is the one fore the long awaited update to fix the Netflix app including the hearing aid setting and voicemail problems.
