switdhing back to og sd card before selling my evo 4g..what do i need to do..

i am selling my evo 4g when i get my evo 3d fri...i plan on taking out the 16gb sd card and putting the original 2gb card back in. can i just replace them? obviously any apps stored on the 16gb card won't work but will it affect how the phone works in general? also the og card had was in the phone way back when my evo had eclair. now i'm on gingerbread waiting for the maintenance update. will any of this (switching the cads) affect the os? or should i just copy and paste the htc files to the old card and then replace before i wipe the phone clean...
thanks for any help, i really appreciate it. my phone is not rooted it is a stock launch day evo 4g.

You don't need to do anything. The update will be saved within the phone. There are no files you HAVE to copy. Just pop one out and put the old back in and your done.
