There's a superuser zip file floating around in the HTC super tool thread @ xda. If you have a custom recovery, update to the ota, the boot into recovery & flash the superuser zip. Not sure how much of a perm root it is, but that has been posted as a work around for regaining root.

I never got my bootloader unlocked though. It never worked for me so I don't have a custom recovery installed

I'll keep an eye out then because I think that is the only option right now. So if you already did the latest ota, then the only way is to unlock your bootloader & install a custom recovery, then install the su zip file in recovery. I think you can do so w/o root.

So to unlock my bootloader I use HTC super tool v3. I tried that one and it doesn't give me the code to paste on the page 3 bootloader unlock webpage. How else can I achieve this??

Does that tool use the official unlock here http://htcdev.com/bootloader? If not, I would use the official website to unlock your bootloader. If when you go to apply the unlock key & your phone freezes up pull the charger cable & battery, reinstall the battery & plug the charger cable back in, boot back to hboot, then fastboot to try again. Took my phone 3x to get the key to take.

Ok. Every time you took the battery out and booted into hboot manually did you have to get a new code??

Nope. You will get an email from htc with the key file attached. But if you haven't successfully pulled & submitted an unlocked token then you will not get an email.

Yeah. When I tried it the first time I got the email with the token. I placed it in the folder and everything. It froze on me. Every time you pull the battery and power up into hboot do you need to get a new token??

8. enter the command "fastboot oem writecid 11111111"
9. enter the command "fastboot reboot-bootloader (Wait for it to reboot the bootloader)
10. enter the command "fastboot getvar cid" [it should confirm your CID is 11111111]
11. enter the command "fastboot reboot"
12. You can now flash any ROM you like.
