    Default Easiest way to root?

    im new at this. all i want to do is use wireless tether.. what steps do i need to take to root my phone. im running on 2.3

    As of right now there is now way to root the Shift if your running Gingerbread (2.3.3). According to a tweet from team win, fr3vo now supports the Shift for temporary root but no one has had any luck. Just be patient and a new method will be found.

    EasyTether in the Market works for USB tethering, but haven't tried it since updating to Gingerbread.

    im using easytether right now and it works fine only thing is if you dont have pro you cant visit secure sites like facebook!

    im also waiting for 2.3 to be rootable

    Yeah pdanet is the same. But then again I already have licenses for all versions for it. I am starting to consider hacking it to work with linux...

    I use the Pro version of Easytether, it's only a $10 one time fee and was well worth it IMO.
