downgrading help

So I've followed the instruction at xda up to the point where you run RUU or use the hboot method to revert. Problem is, RUU can't seem to detect my device. I do have HTC Sync installed and ADB detects my device fine. As for going the Hboot method, I couldn't find any instructions on how to go about that.
