Change number for phone using MSL

Hello all

I bought a htc evo shift 4g from ebay. Turns out they didnot pay the bills and so i cant get that transferred to my name. So basically i bought an expensive paperweight.

I had nothing better to do so I rooted it and am using it as my home phone through wifi for my google voice.
It sounds great. and call quality is good too.

Recently i got the msl number for my phone.

Is there any way i can change carriers or use that phone with my phone line from sprint.

Is it legal?

What are the ##codes# that i need to know?

In order to do something like that your talking about clearing you esn and i do beleive that is illegal but dont quote me on that

Did the same thing on Sunday...I talked to a flashing company and they will do it for 80$. Luckily they are taking my blackberry and 20$ instead. He said its guaranteed to work.

Just read a post on this. Locating and changing MSL. It said to have an operational phone, log into account, pull up MSL, remove MSL, Add MSL to second phone. All was done online without calling carrier.

Am trying to do same. Setup second Boost Prevail phone for wifi tether usage. Unfortunately a few downsides. Will void payments on service up to date. Will still incurr monthly charges although activation fee bypassed. Still searching answer.
