HTC Stylus - Can I Use Another Brand?
I would really like one of the stylus' for my Flyer, but I'm not willing to spend $60-80 right now. Best Buy has other brands significantly cheaper that they say will work - can I just use any capacitive stylus (not like Nintendo stylus) with the Flyer's scribe technology?

Re: HTC Stylus - Can I Use Another Brand?
A capacitive stylus will work anywhere that your finger will work, but it will not work in places where the HTC Scribe pen is specifically required -- so you would not be able to write handwritten notes in Notes, or tap the screen to capture a Scribble, for example.
If you dig down into some of the old threads here, there's discussion from folks verifying that the stylus for one of Fujitsu's Lifebook models (the number escapes me at the moment) works almost exactly the same, but it runs somewhere around $20-$30. The pen for the HP Slate also works. - 10-04-2011, 09:59 AM #3

Check online at eBay - there is a seller carrying the Evo view version (black) of the HTC type pen for $29 - have two on order myself.

Best Buy has the HTC pen on sale for $39.99 right now. It's still high in my opinion, but not as bad as $80.

Re: HTC Stylus - Can I Use Another Brand?
I just had my 2 black ebay pens delivered on Saturday. They don't have batteries, but I got a 6 pack of AAAA batteries for $6, so still a great deal. Have only gotten to play with them a little, but they work great, buttons both work, etc.

Re: HTC Stylus - Can I Use Another Brand?
I got my two eBay pens this weekend. Had to buy my own AAAA batteries; they work just as well as the "silver" pens from Best Buy, and I think they look a whole lot better. In fact, they look juts like the Fujitsu pen but comes with TWO buttons which are great for the HTC so supports erasing and highlighting.
