Default Possible to use as phone with Google Voice?

I was going to get the HTC EVO View and use its 4G data as phone on Google Voice until SGS2 phone comes out. Will this work from people's experience with Flyer on Wifi? Could it take calls even in sleep mode? If not and I had to leave in active all day to take calls, how long would the battery last?

    Short answer: No

    Long answer: Yes...

Google voice itself will not lend itself to VoIP, it's just a number forwarder (and means for FREE text messaging). Now you can get a VoIP provider, and use something like CSIPsimple (app in market). I'm not going to go into the details of VoIP, but it can be done.

I have sorta gotten it to work with these instructions:

I am not very tech savvy, though, so there might be an easier way. It's been so much hassle that I haven't spent too much time with it past one painful first try.
