No one at Motorola or Google want to deal with this problem of keyboard lag, and a Motorola rep acted like they knew nothing about it and just offered for me to send it in for a possible fix at my expense or for me to take it back to the retailer and see if they would give me a refund.

I will not buy any other Motorola products in the future.

Did you know this was an HTC Hero forum when posting? lol

Do you still have the device? If so, try giving it a full wipe and start fresh. With the Hero, the lag was primarily due to the low processing power and a hungry OS, Sense. Also, you might want to try third-party keyboard and see if the lag goes away.
