Bricked HTC Hero

Hello all,

I have an HTC hero CDMA that I tried to root with . It said everything installed correctly, it rebooted and now the touch screen will not respond. Cannot boot into recovery, only HBoot menu. Going to recovery option only reboots the phone. I am at a loss here. The Optimus S I have was easy, so was the Nexus S 4G.

The Hero now will not respond with touch screen at all, or any usb thru the same root method, htc sync, or adb shell. Any thoughts of what I could do to back out of this?

When you boot does it hang at the HTC screen? My Hero did the same thing and I was unable to get into Recovery. I was suggested several options that you can referenced and tried for yourself here:

Keep in mind that I was unable to restore mine and considered it fully bricked. This occurred when I rebooted the device (for no reason other than to just reboot it). It was rooted with partition mods on the device. I suspect the data was corrupted and the reboot bricked it.

Good luck and give the above thread I posted a read for some solutions. It may involve downloading an update.zip onto the sd card and loading it via the Hboot menu. Hope that helps
