Protecting your Hero?
I was just wondering what cases or skins you were using to protect your Heroes. And if you're using a screen protector of not etc.

I wish 3M was making their privacy screens in Hero shape. Those things are amazing.

Can the excess zagg solution hurt your phone if it gets into the cracks and speaker?

I just had a silicon/rubbery case and I'm going to get some screen protectors.

I've purchased a rubberized hard case from eBay for a grand total of $6.95 plus free shipping. It's simplistic yet excellent and I didn't pay $20 like it would cost in a mall and yes the quality feels good. I'm taking it one step further though. I plan on buying a side case to carry my phone and this is the reason why I choose to go with a rubberized hard case rather than silicon. The rubberized hard case is much easier to slide in and out of a side case than silicon and won't stretch over time as silicon will. The rubberized hard case that I purchased does have a clip attachment (didn't come with clip itself though) which I would never consider using because those types of clips are typically cheap and the face of the phone is faced outward and exposed. So that's also why I will be using an additional side carrying case. I'm sure that sounds pretty nutty to some but it seems like a good solution. Oh and the rubberized hard case adds very little bulk to the Hero which is a major plus too.

I had a InvisibleShield on my Pre, and I just can't stand the tacky and fingerprint magnet of it. The softtouch-esque covers will always be better for me, as my fingers won't stick nearly as bad on it.

No screen protector here. I found a professional looking leather belt clip case at Target from Case Logic for $20. Black with medium brown suede interior. Fits the Hero perfectly.

No need for screen protectors
The glass screen on the Hero make it extremely hard to scratch. I have dropped my on pavement already and haven't had any marks at all on the screen. I know in another thread I spoke about this, but when I asked someone at Sprint about screen protectors, they took a screwdriver to my screen and there was absolutely nothing. They said that putting screen protectors on may actually mess with the touch sensitivity when it is hot because the screen may actually trap the heat.
Anyway, here is the Youtube video of the glass screen....
You can read the other thread, because there is some good information there as well:

Anyway, I just thought I would give you heads up. I have done a lot to my phone in a little bit, and it has done pretty well. - 03-01-2010, 03:29 AM #24
I'm using an Invisible Shield for the screen and a Seido Innocase for the body.

I have thw skin that I bought from the Sprint store I like the feel and it will work nicely in protecting my device. Anything else is just unnecessary to me.
