DON'T install if you're rooted, and certainly not if you're using a custom recovery image.

Good news. This update is still exploitable. If you know what this means -
RUU to original OS
Run update
as2root still works
Go for it. If that's all Greek to you, wait a bit longer. Soon I'll have a decent step by step.(•‿•) - 11-18-2009, 06:45 PM #14

Ok so far I noticed the following:
All clock widgets now display the correct time (for me at least)
Added a mute button and speaker phone button to the active call screen
An increase in memory by 5mb - 11-18-2009, 10:19 PM #16
Is anybody still in the same boat i am, where all the texts i send are at the bottom & all the replies are stacked on top of mine? It really makes it hard to follow the conversation when you gotta scroll up to see a reply. This was kind of a let down. I was hoping that this so called update was gonna fix this problem.

I've not experienced that problem with any of the messaging apps I've tried, including the stock one. OTOH, the update fixes the bugs identified so far.
- stock SMS app battery drain -- FIXED
- app name and icon changes -- FIXED
- DST (HTC clock widgets and calendar events) -- FIXED
- small improvement in transition speeds, list displays, rotation
- memory leak with Bluetooth -- FIXED
- memory limit that prevents receiving SMS notifications -- FIXED
- headphone jack outputs stereo sound inconsistently or not at all -- FIXED

And unfortunately a fix will have to come from Sprint for this. It HAS to be a bug in their network programming...enough eyes have went through the kernel and OS that I'm certain it would have been found. And it doesn't affect everyone so it's even harder to figure out.

Not to me, but I've certainly heard of it. At first a few people thought it may be somehow connected to the timestamp issue that causes some N routers not to work. Sprint did fix that, but people are still seeing the issue so that's not it.
