Default HTC IME Keyboard with voice input

I have a rooted hero running a sock rom. I just want to know if anyone has a link to the htc ime keyboard with voice input. Also, is there a specific way that it needs to be installed or can I just drop it on the sd card...

This thread is to customize the keyboard yourself with the help of a third party website. The calibration tool and a keyboard is attached - though I'm not sure if the keyboard provided is compatible with 2.1 ROMs. Most searches I have done on XDA yield CM6 compatible IME keyboards with skins and I'm not sure if they will work on a non-CM6 ROM.

They wont work on a 2.1 rom. Different framework.

Sent from my CDMA Hero. I got some hot Froyo-on-Hero action here!

Fifth post down for the download link and 7th or so down for a screenshot:

You can also try this one, though I'm not sure if the voice is included:

Third post down has the calibration tool and keyboard. Install and root of sd and make sure the install apps from unknown sources is checked in settings. Use root explore or astro file manager to install the .apk's.

    Hope that helps

Get Vlingo from the Market, has an awesome voice keyboard - just like the AOSP keyboard but the voice recognition is far more accurate. Works great on 2.1 roms.

Cool, how do I go about installing this. All the other ime keyboards I saw were in apk format...this download is a zip file. Do I have 2 flash it?

Try extracting the zip first to see if there is an apk on there.

place the Clicker.apk and HTC_IME.apk on the root of the SD Card by unzipping them from the .zip file. With a file manager such as Estrongs or Astro, open the .apk. You will be given the option to install the .apk, install both.

Then, go into Settings > Keyboard/locale and select the HTC_IME keyboard. In a text box, longpress and select Input Method. From there select HTC_IME and you'll be good to go
