Who else will be picking up the Hero on Sprint?

I sure hope to - I had just swapped a BB Curve for a Tour several weeks ago through Best Buy, but when I saw this, I contacted them about making a return. Looks like my 30 day period expires prior to 10/11, so I'll have to use an old phone for several weeks, but I'm hoping to make the swap come October....

Yeah, I'm looking forward to the release. Granted it will be my second line (can't leave my iPhone 3GS) but I think Android has a lot of promise behind it.

As long as software on the phone is updated to the latest version, which it should be, it should be a nice phone.

Nice! Let us know what all you tested (web browsing, apps, etc). It sounds like it has strong build quality based on your feedback, which is good news.

I have two lines (one for personal use; one for business). I currently have a Palm Pre (personal line) and a Blackberry Tour (business line). I will keep the Pre, but I am considering swapping the Tour for the Hero or Samsung Instinct HD. I am leaning more toward the Hero, but I need to molest the device first before I come to a conclusion. My 30 days end on October 27th, so I have time.

I have returned my Tour, and am creeping along with an old Samsung 300 until October 11th. It's brutal, but I'm holding on by checking out videos of the Hero, and looking through the owner's guides...C'mon, October 11th!

I got rid of my Tour some time ago too - that keyboard was killing me. I am now holding onto my Pre until this Hero is out.

I just can't wait - haver preordered from Best Buy, but this is the first phone I've made a decision on buying before I've even gotten my hands on it. Have tried going into Sprint stores to see if they have one behind the desk, but no luck.

same here, I placed a pre order at Best Buy and this is the first phone I bought before seeing, can't wait, my treo 700wx have seen better days.

If you've ordered from Best Buy, I found out yesterday that they will be making the Hero available for Reward Zone customers this Friday, October 9th. Here's the flyer:

I am so pumped now - am heading down to the "rivah" with family Saturday morning.
It'll be great to have my new Hero in hand for the trip!

Was this a mailer? I haven't gotten it and I'm usually inundated with crap from them.

Actually getting conflicting information on that - I've heard a coupon will be sent via e-mail, it's downloadable via the RZ website, and will be sent by snail mail.

I'm banking on the snail mail - as I usually get a flyer from them with coupons on the Wednesday or Thursday before the event dates. So I'm watching the mail.

I've also heard that silver RZ membership is required, but I didn't hear that from the store I called or the BB Mobile rep I spoke to via the 888 number.

I just canceled my T-mobile account, and opened a sprint account just to get this phone!! Needless to say I will be at the local Sprint store Sunday morning waiting for it to open.
