Anyone buy one?

Now that I know I've gotten a good one I'm going to have mine ghost armored. I'm hoping it doesn't diminish the touch screen any.

Kinda sad that Best Buy sells a invisible shield for the Euro Hero and not the Sprint version.

Happen to be lucky enough to have a BB phone tech at our local store who happens to be a true phone geek. The correct invisible shields for the Sprint Hero should be in late this week. At my store at least, there is a sign up to reserve one and get notified when they arrive.

If it's a glass screen then a screen protector really isn't needed. But I haven't found anything saying that the screen is glass. If anyone else knows that would be awesome.

I picked up a Zagg screen protector and love it. I've always had great luck with the Zagg screen protectors. The one I bought isn't for the Hero specifically its for the other (maybe it is called a Hero) HTC device that had the angled bottom bit it fits the screen very good. Think its well worth the investment considering you will be using the screen a lot.

The screen is Teflon coated. The rep at Best Buy took a scissor and tried to scratch the screen, nothing.

It's the case that is teflon coated (at least on european Heros - not sure on the Sprint version) not the screen.
The screen has an oleophobic (anti-smudge) coating, but is glass so should be reasonably scratch resistant. I wouldn't take scissors to it, but I do carry it in a pocket with keys and after two months there are no marks on it at all.

99.9% correct
The European Hero is only Teflon Coated if its the white version to keep dirt off. Dirt isn't visible on the black version so its pointless to Teflon coat.
And yes .... the screen on the Sprint is Oleophobic coated glass (does this mean my screen has a fear of oleo's??)
Just for clarification purposes, oleophobic doesn't make the glass any stronger but rather makes it harder for dirt/oil to stick to but even with that said .... a screen protector is kind of pointless on these devices because if your doing something that's crazy enough to scratch a glass screen its going to scratch despite any kind of plastic screen protector. - 10-14-2009, 06:56 PM #17
When i had my Zagg on my pre, it turned the decent looking pre into looking about 4 years old, not to mention that you couldnt use the touchscreen well because your fingers didnt slide good on the sticky material. I definetly dont reccomend it to anyone for anything.

The seidio screen protectors give you more of the natural feel, the zagg gives you more protection (probably more than you'll ever need). I went with Zagg in the interim, while I waited for the Seidio protector to get here in the mail. Although the Zagg is "better" in terms of protection. I doubt I'll be intentionally scratching my screen with a key, dropping screws, or taking a beveling/sanding tool to it anytime soon! The sedio screen protector is good enough for pocket use.

I have the Boxwave anti glare screen protector, and I just ordered the Seidio Innocase combo for the Sprint Hero. Can't wait till it arrives, Seidio makes awesome products.
