LED alternates green then orange... what does it mean?

I am currently tethering using my hero and my laptop... and the LED on the phone is alternating green then orange steadily .... green, off, orange, off, green, off... so on

what does it mean?
I have no notifications and i double checked by opening all of my messaging clients, texts, emails....etc

i'm curious

it's a sign that your battery is hot, mine does it when I'm using wireless tether for extended periods, just unplug it from the charger
