When is the upgrade coming out?

All I hear is sometime in 2010 for the software update? Does Sprint even have a clue when they will release it? There are some apps I would like, USAA being one, that I would like but can't until the software is updated.

I feel you I have been waiting for the update so I can install USAA as well. Hopefully with the Droid getting there update Sprint will hurry up and push out the Hero update. I have been seriously contemplating rooting my hero.

You could always run a 2.1 rom and get all those lovely apps.

The 2.1 Rom I am using isn't great with battery life. I removed something last night that should help, but I doubt it'll be as good as Gumbo 1.5c. It's not terrible, just not as good in its current state.
Putting 2.1 does involve rooting, and if you are scared, I would wait then.

It was on the front page of AC I'd post the link but im on my phone. The way they were describing it makes it sound like a maintenance update.

Like I said before, all I want is for my YouTube application to work and I am happy. Also, id the device would perform a little faster.
