    Default WTF is up with the gmail app in Android?

    I need help...I have a gmail account and need to know how to enable push gmail. I only get my messages when I refresh inside the gmail app. Am I killing it overtime I tell the task manager to close all apps?? PleAs help me with this as I love this OS...

    1. uninstall the task manager.
    2. reboot your phone
    3. Read this

    This is probably what it is. Also, from home, go into Settings->Data synchronization->Google and make sure that Backgroung sync and gmail are checked.

    For the task killer, if you really are going to use it (and I agree that it is probably unnecessary to automatically force kill at all), make sure that you ignore any app or process that mentions gmail, google or gtalk.

    Check out K9 Mail in the market. Push, and everything works very well. By far my favorite, no Gmail app needed.

    ive one this and read that article in depth. so far today my emails are coming in smoothly and promptly.
