Default dialing phone numbers in email

I have the MyTouch 4G... I'd like to have the phone numbers in text and emails dialable by clicking on them... that was how it worked on my BlackBerry... it would also map an address by clicking on it. There has to be a way to make the Android do this... how?

It should highlight valid numbers and addresses in blue which you can then tap on and be taken to the correct app. You're not seeing this on your phone?

Nope... Is there a setting somewhere that I need to activate?

No, it should just do it automatically. Are you running the latest Gmail available from the market?

I'm having a similar problem with the Inspire Calendar through Android. My last phone a galaxy S 3g would automatically highlight phone numbers when I put them with the title of the event or person I was meeting or servicing for my business. This Inspire will click and go on the location to maps like the galaxy but not the phone numbers. This is an even bigger hassle because the Inspire doesn't memorize all the numbers like the galaxy so you have to view and input them each time. It seems odd that the Inspire would have all these functions with a similar calendar to the Galaxy but leave out the autodial functions.
