Why Aren't My Contacts Searchable?

Hi All,

I have a T-Mobile MyTouch 4G. Most of my contacts are from Exchange Server...and a lot are linked to Facebook profiles. I am not sure if any of that makes a difference.

My main problem is that when I click "Contacts" and then go to search for people by hitting the magnifying glass - the screen immediately shows "No contacts" even before I type on anything.

What's weird is that I can "search" for people from the screen where I would dial a #. But in the actual Contacts "App", search doesn't work.

Any help the folks here can provide would be so appreciated.

I did not like the standard contacts app for the MT4g and looked for a replacement. I have been using Dialer One (market link: https://market.android.com/details?id=kz.mek.DialerOne&hl=en ) and have been quite happy, since it has a nice search icon on the upper right of the app when you launch it.

I also use this to replace my call log (it shows my recent calls in new to older list view)

Be aware that I don't call too many different people, so YMMV.
