need help with rooted my touch bought from china

I recently purchased a brand new HTC on eBay from Hong Kong. It said it was brand new which it is but when I turned it on, it lacked some of the features that are supposed to be there. no voice text or swipe. genius button does not work. I called HTC they told me it was rooted but I need to unroot it. My question is not how to unroot but if I do will it go to original like in US or will it all be in Cantonese? Another thing I notice is that the friend stream does not list Facebook as a choice it is some taiwanese social app. then the locations map only shows Taiwan. my locations will not pull up.I hope I made sense. Need help
