flashed very rapidly like a strobe then black screen

Oh and i did a hard reboot already My htc mytouch 4g tmobile the screen flashed extremely fast like a strobe light then went completely black. I can still charge it turn it on and off and all the appropriate lights etc come on and still receive phone calls cant answer though unsure if thats me swiping the wrong spot or the screen. Took it to a repair shop they replaced the lcd which they had determined to be the problem. They stated that didnt fix the issue that my phone was fried. I simply dont believe that cuz as i stated it still rings etc. My question is if it isnt the lcd could it be the digitizer or something else?
