Pet Peeve, ughh -__- How do I change this?

How do I hide my contacts phone number in SMS. I want only their name to show up instead of John Doe (M1234567890).

Only one of my contacts show up with their name only and I looked closely at how their contact card was configured and did the same to the rest, but no difference

Get Handcent app in the marketplace. Much better for messaging and customizable. Phone number doesn't show either.

How do i remove the regular messaging app from managing texts while handcent is installed?

open to message list, press the menu key, select settings, go down to notification settings uncheck notifications..... then from home screen hit the menu key, go to settings>applications>manage applications>select the messaging app,hit clear defaults.

go back to home screen select the text icon, a popup will come up , at the bottom of the popup hit the select as default check box, then choose which app you want as default
