Can't sign into anything

Hey everyone, I just bought a new HTC One and right off the bat im having serious problems. My simcard isnt active yet so im using wifi. I'm connected to my own wifi network but there is no internet. I can't go on any websites or sign into anything which makes the phone kind of useless. Anyone got any suggestions?

You have to have your sim card active to be able to use the phone.

No you just can't make calls and use 3g/4g networks, I should be able to use all other parts of the phone.

Depends on your carrier I suppose. I know that I couldn't really use it on ATT until I activated.

It sounds like your router is not passing an proper IP address to the phone for internet access. It should have nothing to do with the phone.

I mean to say, that if you are connecting to your network, it sounds like the phone works properly.
