Gmail Push on native HTC ONE email app

Just curious, how would I go about setting my HTC ONE stock email app to work with gmail push. Currently, i can only recieve gmail if i open up the stock email app. Thanks much.

You used to be able to use exchange active sync to set up Gmail push in HTC's Mail app but I believe Google discontinued support for Gmail exchange active sync about month ago!

yeah, thats what i have been reading online. Funny but the S3 i had would push gmail on stock app no problem. Oh well, been using 3rd party app K9 since a few days now, and that works wonders for all my email accts. Besides the ONE totally slaughters the S3 when is comes to speed and build quality !
