Compressed Videos when uploaded to Facebook?

Not sure whats going on here.

I recorded a 1080p video with my HTC one. I then uploaded over my home wifi connection to my facebook account. I assumed it would be 1080p video since it took forever to upload.

It posted to my facebook account but the video is compressed like crazy.

Whats the deal? How do I get around this?

Is there some kind of option that im missing? I checked the facebook settings prior to uploading but I didnt see anything about video quality.

I have not done any video yet, so there may be other fixes. What I would do to get around it is copy the video to your computer and upload it from there. You can use Airdroid. The app is free and works great.

On Facebook, do you see an "HD" in the lower right of the video? Press that and the video will playback in HD.

yeah but its still compressed and looks bad.

The same happens to me. Record in full HD. If I loadit from my PC its ssstunning. If I load vaphone to facebook it is horrible. like 300 not 1080. Tested loading from phone to youtube and it loads in full 1080p. Its def facebook specific.
