HTC One SV LTE android update

I recently purchased a HTC One SV LTE from amazon uk and have yet to do anything with it as it needs a micro sim, and I'll wait till I can get one from my current network...

What I am wondering is if it's possible for me to upgrade the android software to the latest version and also if there is a latest version of any htc overlay software that can be updated...and most importantly how?!!!

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You may be able to upgrade without the SIM since the upgrade is downloaded via WiFi and not OTA (over the air)
