Is metering altered when touch focus?

Should I be using touch focus or letting the camera auto focus when taking pictures?
I was experimenting and the same image with touch focus the background came out way more washed out.

Is metering different in both focuses?

Yeah, the exposure will be adjusted based on where you tap to focus. It won't be metered in a different way than letting it focus automatically, it just changes which portion of the image is properly exposed for.

if you dont tap does it just look in the center?
