Strange text was substituted into a text message I just received, deleting some of the original message from my friend. The confusion in meaning led us to compare screenshots. As seen in the 2 attachments, half the message R sent to me was deleted and was substituted by the text "computer scientist" in the message I received.

What is going on?? Is my phone or R's phone infected with some malware?? If so, how do I detect it and clear it?? Or is there some other reason for this occurrence??

    Thanks so much!

Something to do with how the different sms apps deal with sms's that go over the 160 character limit?
